## What worry is

Worry shows itself as agitation, anguish and apprehension. A concern before something difficult is ordinary. It becomes heavy when insecurity is the climate of the day, and you cannot put the question down.

The reading below looks at where that insecurity was learned, and at the moment it switches on again.

## The emotional meaning of worry

Worry comes from an inner insecurity that makes you very emotional. The source looks first to childhood, especially if you lived physical or social insecurity, if you felt something missing on the emotional plane or in your education, or if you felt abandoned at some moment. The same worry can return in adult life when you meet a situation like the earlier one, and the feeling is reactivated.

You also worry about a situation when you think you have no power to change it, or when you see yourself as the victim of events rather than as someone who can create. You think you will have to endure, instead of being able to act and to accept.

The entry does not tie this feeling to one organ. It is a way of standing in front of what you cannot steer.

## A gentler way to hold it

The aim is not to dismiss a real problem. The emotional perspective invites you to see whether an old insecurity is driving a present one.

- **Find the earlier scene.** A lack, an abandonment, a home that was not safe.
- **Ask what today resembles.** Reactivation is the source's word for the return.
- **Notice the victim stance.** Enduring, when one act is still possible, feeds the powerlessness.
- **Be stronger than one anguish.** Trust is what it says can stop the worry from running the day.
